ELECTROBID – Terms & Conditions
Auction Posting Authority
Only the appointed auctioneer may post items on any ELECTROBID WhatsApp auction group during the auction.
Item Descriptions & Opening Bids
Each item will include a detailed description and image. Minimum opening bid: R1.00. Unreasonable bids may be deleted.
Highest Bidder Priority
Items are sold to the highest bidder. The highest bidder chooses their quantity first; remaining quantity may then be offered to the next bidders.
Participation Requirement
Only members who actively bid qualify to receive offers. If you do not bid, you cannot claim items (unless stated otherwise by the auctioneer).
No Obligation to Sell
The auctioneer has no obligation to sell to anyone who did not participate in bidding.
Quantity Selection
The highest bidder confirms quantity either in the group or via direct message to the auctioneer.
Voetstoots Sale
All items are sold as is, unless otherwise stated.
New Products
All items are brand new and sealed in their original packaging.
Product Images & Descriptions
Images and descriptions, including colour where applicable, will be displayed for each item.
Bidding Platform
All bids must be placed publicly on the WhatsApp group. Private messages are not considered valid bids.
Image Disclaimer
Photos are for illustration only. Product colour, size or packaging may differ slightly.
Age Restriction
You must be 18 or older to participate.
Non-Compliance Removal
Any member violating these terms may be removed without warning.
Legal Action
ELECTROBID may take legal action against any member who violates auction rules, legislation or POPIA.
Respect & Conduct
No foul language, insults, drama, or disrespect toward members or staff will be tolerated. Serious violations may be escalated to ELECTROBID’s legal team.
Official Language
English is the only language used in the group.
No Chatting
The group is strictly for bidding — no casual chatting.
No Advertising
No advertising is allowed.
Inactive Members
Members inactive for 2 weeks may be removed.
Confirmed Items Are Final
Once a member confirms quantity, it cannot be removed from the invoice. Ensure you can afford the purchase before opting.
Payment Terms
Payment must be made within 3 days of receiving the invoice. Accepted methods: EFT, cash, ATM deposit. Cash deposits incur a 3% bank fee.
Payment Reference
Use your invoice number as the payment reference.
Invoicing
Invoices are sent via WhatsApp in PDF format and include all applicable costs.
Buyer Details
Buyers must provide full name, contact number, and delivery address via WhatsApp.
Auction Commission
A 10% commission applies to all items.
Delivery via Courier
Items are delivered door-to-door via a reputable courier. Courier fees are added to the invoice.
Dispatch & Tracking
Orders are dispatched within 5–7 working days of payment confirmation. Tracking numbers are sent via WhatsApp. It is the buyer’s responsibility to track the parcel.
No Collections
SELF COURIER COLLECTIONS ARE ALLOWED upon arrangement with ElectroBid. NO PERSONAL SELF Collections are allowed due to Safety reasons and to keep procedures in orderly form.
Courier Schedule
Couriers do not deliver on weekends or public holidays.
Courier Fee Calculation
Courier fees are calculated according to the courier company’s volumetric weight per order.
CPA Act (Consumer Protection Act) regarding returns and or refunds:
In South Africa, the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) allows for refunds in specific situations, not as a general rule for "buyer's remorse". In the event should a refund be owed to any buyer, the Consumer Protection Act, act rule 37, allows the "seller", a reasonable grace period to process the agreed refund, of up to 10 business days.
